2019 Bay Area Step Up for Down Syndrome Walk

October is national Down Syndrome Awareness Month! The DSCBA celebrates by holding our annual Bay Area Step Up for Down Syndrome (SUDS) Walk and Family Picnic. This event brings more than 1,500 people together to celebrate acceptance, respect and inclusion for all. The walk is not only one of our largest fundraisers of the year, it is also an amazing event where families and friends can enjoy spending the afternoon together.

Wizards, Hobbits & Jedi Oh My

Temple Hill Auditorium 4780 Lincoln Ave, Oakland, CA

The Temple Hill Symphony Orchestra is a non-profit providing good music free of charge at a venue with 1600 seating capacity. The concert will also include music from Harry Potter and Lord of the Rings. Several audience participation events will be included such as Best Darth Vader impression, etc. Photo ops at end of concert in reception area.

This is a two-day event running from 7pm-9pm on both October 12th and October 13th.

Santa Cruz Trunk or Treat

The Santa Cruz County Sheriff's Office is hosting our 5th annual Trunk or Treat event for the community. This is a fun, family-friendly Halloween festival and we have many costumed children and adult in attendance.

North Bay Science Discovery Day

Sonoma County Fairgrounds 1350 Bennett Valley Road, Santa Rosa, CA

The NBSDD is a community event to inspire students and families with Science, Technology, Engineering and Math. Over 90 exhibitors provide hands-on enrichment activities from astronomy to zoology. Admission and parking are free for all attendees. Expected attendance >15,000.

Boo at the Zoo!

The Sacramento Zoo 3930 West Land Park Drive, Sacramento, CA

The Sacramento Zoo is having its annual Boo at the Zoo! This is a non-profit Zoo that inspires conservation awareness through education and recreation. It is home to over 140 native, rare and endangered species! Children will be dressed as their favorite superheros and fantasy characters! Families will also be able to enjoy trick-or-treating throughout the ENTIRE zoo at 15 different candy stations, face painting for kids, festive games, themed stage shows, magic shows with Trevor the Magician, keeper chats and even animal enrichments.

This event runs from 11am to 4pm on both Saturday, October 26th and Sunday, October 27th.

City of Mountain View Monster Bash Event

The City of Mountain View will be holding their annual Monster Bash Event in Pioneer Park. There are between 1,000 - 3,000 people that attend every year.

Pan CAN Purple Stride

PurpleStride has been the Pancreatic Cancer Action Network’s most powerful vehicle for fundraising and awareness. Each year, in more than 50 PurpleStride events across the country, survivors, families, researchers, caregivers and others touched by pancreatic cancer come together to rewrite the future of this deadly disease.
